Relax...It's Saturday.

Picture Drawn by Rkdsign88's shop

Everyone needs some relax time or else they'll overload. The image is from one of my favorite shops and I love it. I told myself, today, I must relax and enjoy myself. So I looked up a couple fun activities in my local community.

1st Stop: Local Newspaper

~Perfect for the current day events. You can also go to you local newspaper website if you don't feel like driving out to pick up one.

2nd Stop: Weather.com

~ It's the perfect first stop because you can check the weather for the day and the site has links to Family and Outdoor Activities. They also have neat outdoor checklists like Picnic Essentials!

3rd Stop: TripAdvisor.com

~I go to this site whenever I travel to another city or to look for local "Things To Do" in my own city. Sometimes I find places and events I would never have known about and it's just a couple minutes away. Just go to the tab on the right that says "THINGS TO DO" and enter in city.

Sometimes this site reminds me of (for all you FRIENDS fans out there) when Ross showed his boss's niece around New York. He felt like a babysitter, but after he researched and visited all the tourist sites, he finds out how much he LOVES New York! lol You never know what in your own city that you just might fall in love with too. This site really helps you find out.

After these stops I usually find some great things to do for the day. Like today ^_^ I'm going to the Charles M. Schulz Museum. They are having a local cartoonist and illustrator Briana Miller there today and every Saturday. How awesome! Local artists!

Have a wonderful day everyone! and Remember...Relax..=)

ETSY: To Quit or Not to Quit

Cute CONFUSED Dog Tag...Made by Raynae

Etsy is great place to sell handmade items and to start a home business. I love all the art and creativity in one place. Ever since I first heard of Etsy I always heard the saying "Quit you Day Job!" cause Etsy made so many families become independant. All the Sucesses stories really make me believe and espscially since one of my own friends made it big on Etsy, so big she even opened a second shop!..and it's doing pretty well.

Now here's the problem, lately I've been seeing in the forum that people's sales have drop and some are warning to "Don't Quit Your Day Job!". I'm not saying I'm going to quit my job or anything, I just wanted to express my worry for the economy right now. It's suppose to be getting better, but with the CPSIA in Feb. and people pinching their dollars, I hope Etsy shops can survive.

Handmade items are always so nice and Etsy opened my eyes to so much talent in the world. I wouldn't want talented people to be unable to sell because of all the crazy new laws out there and the downfall of the economy. I guess this is just my two-cents. I hope everything will be well for everyone.

Always Take Care,

PIF = Pay It Forward

Bracelet made by NannetteBernard...Visit her shop for more great Karma bracelets.

One of my favorite finds on ETSY is PIFs. For those who haven't heard, PIF means Pay-It-Forward. On ETSY, seller's would list great items for a near-nothing price, usually 20 cents. They are doing this as a random act of kindness and hopes that the person who purchases their PIF listing will also perform some random act of kindness whether it's listing a PIF too or being nice to someone you know. It's all about spreading Good Karma and spreading more kindness around.

Well last night, I was thinking to myself that I have alot of great items, but not enough room or time to wait for them to sell. So that's why I will start listing more PIFs the whole month of January, and my readers will be the first to know when I list them. I think this is great for the people who love giveaways, but don't want to wait to know if they won, they can just buy it for almost nothing.

On the left side under my profile will be the latest PIF available in my shop, and when it sells I will list another the next day. All I ask is the buyer to pay the listing and shipping cost. This is fair because all my PIFs will be really cool items so don't miss out, check in often ^_^.

*P.S. Don't forget to ENTER MY GIVEAWAY!*

So I came home around 5 o' clock and found out I won another giveaway! ^_^ How awesome is that? Two wins in one day! I won a $10 Gift Certificate from a vintage shop on Etsy called TheOrangePeel. I chose the lovely bracelet pictured above as my prize. It's a 1970s Trifari Gold Flower Bracelet. I feel so lucky today ^_^ I even feel like doing a giveaway myself, but not just yet, I have to clean up my place before I do so. Once I tidy up I will surely start doing lots of giveaway.

Surprise, Surprise!

You see that lovely pendant up there? Yeah...I won it! ^_^ Woot! I love to wake up in the morning and be a "WINNER" lol But don't we all hehe...

I won this pendant from LincolnChristian. I entered on her very pratty blog. Her shop is full of interesting designed glass tile pendants, especially of the new movie Twilight, for all you ladies out there ^_~. I, myself, haven't watch or read Twilght yet, but am looking forward to from all the good things I hear. I was already very interested in the movie when I saw the trailor, so just waiting for my boyfriend's romance mood to kick in lol. I want to read the book, but I'm one of those people who loves to read a book that has already been physically read, I'm a used book person. New books are nice, but I have the habit of displaying them more than reading them.

Well, lots of things to do this Monday morning so "Ciao Everyone!". May you have a wonderful Monday too!

Is That My Reflection?

"Looking at fish" drawn by TummyMountain...one of my favorite shops on ETSY.

Sometimes in life, you take a moment to think about what you've done so far and who you really are. There has been so many things that I imagine would be different in my life when I was in High School. I dreamt about being a real estate genius and working in a big corporation by the time I was 22. I also wanted to own my own condo and run my own little business on the side. Ever since I graduated high school at age 16, I was always told to have had a bright and successful future. I worked hard and studied all the time, but now at age 21 I feel a little disappointed. I thought I would have done more by now than I have already done. I realized today that I haven't focus on one thing at a time. I day dream alot and have wonderful dreams about owning successful businesses in several different fields all the time. One day I want to do this and the next I think I have a better idea. I've tried way too many things and yet still haven't found my niche in anything. The only thing for sure I know, I'm good at business. I was born without any artistic skill, I can't even write pretty. lol So sad. I'm always jealous of people on Etsy. haha Well today as I evaluated myself I told myself, even though I'm not as successful as I wanted to be, all I could do is work hard and don't give up on my big dreams because if you don't dream big, you won't be big. =) That's kinda of my motto now. I want to see where this year will take me. It's time to get focus and get things done...this is also my New Year's resolution ^_~.
